Missionary explorer Lily Farrell writes: “My time here has taught me that being kicked out of a village and family is a bigger deal than I imagined. Local friends told us the story of how they labored for 15-20 years doing tailoring and construction work. They told us about how they needed government assistance to build a small house with a bed and kitchen on their forefathers’ land (the entire house is smaller than most American living rooms). I learned that it seems financially impossible to leave a house you’ve put so much work into for much of your life. Additionally, most of these people were born in their village and have never left or explored outside the nearest city. They don’t have vehicles to move around easily. Bus and train tickets can be very expensive. So, the thought of leaving is very difficult! We pray that their families can still love them even if they have different beliefs and we also pray for a church community to be started where they can be a part of the family of God that shares all things together (Acts 2). We pray they will trust the good God who is their Protector and Provider.”
