(muh-RAH-kan) – Saalima met a believer through a mutual friend. The two young women formed a fast friendship, and after sharing a meal together, she heard the gospel for the first time. Saalima was intrigued, saying that she had never heard this before and asked the believer many questions about the Bible compared to the ideas of Islam she had grown up believing. Saalima herself stated many times that this was better than what she had grown up with and that within Islam, she would never be able to know for certain that her sins were forgiven. Over the course of several meetings, she talked about the beauty she saw in what her new friend believes but said that she would never leave Islam. Saalima initially told her new friend that she wanted to continue to talk about this truth and read through the Bible, but she has since become more withdrawn and hesitant to talk about religion at all. Please pray that the Lord will continue to draw Saalima to Himself and save her.
