Zainab had been a Muslim, but she was saved and now follows Jesus. When her son brought home his friend Nassib, Zainab thought nothing of it. Though his family obviously had money, Nassib seemed to need mothering. After a while, he came to think of Zainab as a surrogate mom. He even told his own mother that he “loved and trusted” Zainab even though he didn’t trust his own family. His jealous mother called the police on Zainab! It turns out that Nassib’s mother is an Islamic witch doctor from a majority-Muslim country in West Africa, and she made her money from people paying her to curse others by casting spells on them. She discovered that Zainab was no longer a Muslim. Later, a friend told Zainab that this woman had put a curse on her. Zainab told her friend that no curse could touch her because she belonged to Jesus now. Praise the Lord for His protection of Zainab in Christ! Pray for Zainab and her family. This situation has served as a stark contrast between following Jesus and following Islam for Zainab’s son, who is not yet saved. Pray that he will come to faith in Christ because of this situation.
