Muslims of Three States in South India

The Telugu-speaking Hajjam are a Muslim unengaged, unreached people group. They number about 17,000 and converse in Telugu with local people and in Urdu with other Muslims. Their name comes from the word “hajam,” which means “barber” and describes their traditional and current occupation. Additionally, some of them have more recently taken up carpentry. Please pray that believers will go to the Telugu-speaking Hajjam and share the truth of Christ. Pray that the hearts of the Hajjam will be open to believing these truths and that they will come to faith. Pray that the works-based hope they currently have will one day be replaced with an assurance and a living hope as described in 1 Peter 1:3-4 (ESV): “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.”
