North Africa/Middle East Refugees in the Diaspora

Salma left her homeland with her husband years ago, settling into a new life in Europe. Other family members traveled later, including her sisters, who are now living in a refugee camp a few towns away from her. Recently, unfortunate circumstances have resulted in Salma and her young daughter leaving the home they were living in and moving in with her sisters. Salma finds herself once again in the position of swimming in paperwork and requiring a great deal of help navigating legal processes in a country and language still very foreign to her–but this time alone. One social worker whom she has started getting to know is a believer. While careful not to go beyond the limitations of her job, this local believer is committed to sharing with Salma the firm foundation of her peace and hope for the future and how Salma can find the same. Ask that Salma’s heart will be open to the message she hears. Pray that one day, she and her sisters will all put their trust in the One who sees their struggles and cares deeply for each one of them.
