North Africa/Middle East Refugees in the Diaspora

Aabis and Zain both grew up in a country far from Western conveniences and culture. When they met up with a believer for coffee and tea during December, the believer pointed out some Christmas lights in the local café and asked if they were familiar with Christmas and the story behind it. “Who isn’t?” Zain replied. The believer went on to confirm that they understood the Christmas story as told in the Bible, and they seemed to have heard the story before. Zain said that there are many similarities between his religion and Christianity. The believer said that the biggest difference is what you believe about Jesus, whether He is a prophet or He is God. The believer went on to share that our good works do not eliminate our bad works, a misconception often believed in their religion. The men both listened respectfully but neither seemed to be interested in more than just the discussion. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will soften their hearts and that they will really understand their need for a Savior.
