Sarah, a believer, frequents a local market every week. Not long ago, she ran into Leena there, a North African newlywed who has lived in Europe a little less than two years. In the short time that they’ve known each other at the market, Leena shared that even being newly married, she still feels very lonely in Europe, far away from all that she’s ever known. To continue their conversation, Sarah invited Leena to breakfast the following weekend. Because of what Leena had shared, Sarah went to breakfast with a framed copy of Psalm 23 to give to her new friend. Leena was appreciative and said that the verse was very comforting. Sarah was then able to share the gospel with Leena, telling her about Christ’s forgiveness of sins, the cross, and the resurrection. Sarah gave her a Bible and encouraged her to read that verse and more of the Bible whenever she felt depressed. Please pray for Leena, and ask that she’ll read the Bible that Sarah gave her. Pray for her heart to be open to Jesus, and ask that she will personally encounter the loving and gracious God the Father who’s described in Psalm 23.
