Sara moved to Europe from a predominately Muslim country about 15 years ago. Since that time, not one person had asked about her spiritual life. Last summer, Sara’s daughter met another little girl on the playground and followed her around. The girl’s mother, Beth, didn’t know that Sara was from an Arabic-speaking country and assumed she was European. The following week, Sara ran into Beth again, but this time it was inside the garden in their apartment complex. They were neighbors! Sara’s daughter shared with Beth and her husband about their upcoming vacation to North Africa. Beth gasped because her family used to live in North Africa. Beth looked at Sara and began speaking to her in Arabic. They laughed, discovering that they could communicate well with one another. Sara has since gone to Beth’s house; they have gone on walks together and had playdates at the park, too. Beth has asked Sara about her spiritual life, and Sara really doesn’t have much to say about it. Please ask God to change Sara’s heart. Pray that she and Beth can have more time together and that Sara will see a difference in Beth’s family that makes her want to know more about Jesus.
