Beth hadn’t seen Marta in a few weeks, so she walked to her store to catch up with her. She greeted Marta and asked about her family and the Islamic month of Ramadan. Marta said that she hadn’t fully observed Ramadan for years but doesn’t talk about that with anyone in her family. Beth asked if she ever plans to talk to her children about the truth that is found in Jesus, and Marta replied that “in time,” someone would share with them. Marta doesn’t want to create division in her home because she’s already being criticized for not doing the usual Muslim religious practices. At this visit, Marta had deep questions for Beth about Jesus’ death and asked if He’d died a spiritual death or only a physical death. The two looked at Scripture together to understand. Marta also had questions about the Trinity and about how God is with us today. Pray for Marta to continue to dig deep into the things of God, turning to Scripture. Ask that she will soon have the boldness to share what she believes about Jesus with her family, especially her children, who are old enough to believe, trust, and follow Him.
