Antonio takes his boys to a local barber shop run by North African men. He brings his Bible and reads it while waiting for their haircuts. No one usually asks about it, but recently while he was there, their barber, Rafiq, approached Antonio and asked what he was reading. Antonio was thrilled to share that he was reading the Injil (New Testament). The next time that Antonio went to get the boys’ haircuts, he brought a copy of the Injil in Arabic for Rafiq. He handed it to him, and Rafiq held it with care. He told Antonio that he wanted to borrow it but would return it when he was done. Antonio insisted that it was a gift for him to keep. As Antonio and Rafiq continued their conversation, another barber overheard them and asked to see the Injil for himself. When Rafiq finished cutting the boys’ hair, Antonio said that they could discuss what he read the next time he visited the barber shop, and Rafiq agreed. When Antonio left, the other barber was still intensely reading the book. Please pray for both barbers and for Antonio to be able to share the gospel with them on his next visit.
