Yara thought that a life away from war would bring her peace and joy. But even after receiving residency in her new country, she continued to feel empty and sad. A Christian woman in her neighborhood invited her to share a meal at a local Arabic-language church. She immediately felt a different kind of love from the people in the church, so she decided to attend a weekend conference with them. She began to have many questions about Christianity, so she asked the pastor if he could meet with her. After she did a Bible study with the pastor and a believing woman, the pastor explained to her the basics of the Christian faith and told her about salvation and redemption. At the end of their meeting, Yara decided to give her life to Jesus! Now she is filled with peace and joy and is looking forward to being baptized. Praise the Lord that He has brought salvation to Yara! Pray that she will “[bear] fruit in every good work and [increase] in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10 ESV).
