Across the desert lands of northern Africa, there is conflict. There are outright wars raging and underlying struggles simmering. There is civil and ethnic strife due to age-old, unsettled disagreements. And among many nations, this is exacerbated by draining, economic poverty. Men, women, and children are living in trauma. Many of the people of the desert are broken and in great need of healing and peace. In this Advent season, celebrate the King of kings and the peace that He brings, “and he shall speak peace to the nations” (Zechariah 9:10 ESV). Please pray for the desert peoples of northern Africa to hear the good news that the King can bring peace to their hearts, their homes, and their nations. Intercede for an end to the complicated layers of conflict. Pray, looking forward to the day when “they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore” (Isaiah 2:4 ESV).
