People by the Water, Southern Africa

A worker recently visited a former Bible Institute student, Pastor Joseph, who has been leading a house church in his predominantly Hindu community for approximately 10 years. Not long ago, the church leaders pursued a property in the area where the church could begin meeting and share responsibility among the members of the congregation, something considered a great step forward for this pastor and this house church. Unfortunately, the Hindu community has been in an uproar and has refused to allow the church to be hosted there, even though the house church has been meeting not far from the new premises. In addition, the leaders are experiencing rejection from their own congregation and the ministry that they have led all this time. Please pray for the church to have perseverance and resolve to remain faithful to God and to the meeting of the saints even in the midst of community criticism. Pray in the manner as Paul represented himself to the Corinthians in 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 (ESV): “This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.”
