Aya, a sister in Christ, found out that her father is terminally ill. Though unsure of exactly how much time he has left, she knows that it won’t be an easy road. Her older brother, who makes most of the decisions for the family, has decided that they will not pursue further treatment. Aya is obviously scared and doesn’t want to lose her father, but she also doesn’t want him to suffer. She has some health issues herself that have been made worse by her heightened anxiety around being at home with her abusive brother. They had a fight one day in which he asked her if she was a Muslim, and he said that if not, then he would kill her. It was very intense, but her father stood up for her. That brings even more grief, as she is realizing that her father won’t be around to protect her for much longer. Pray for physical comfort and healing for her father, and ask that he will come to know the Lord before his death. Pray for comfort for Aya during this incredibly difficult time.
