(chee-ang RYE) – The peoples of Chiang Rai province represent a diverse population spanning various ages and backgrounds. Residents include people from Thailand, Myanmar, China, Europe, and many other nations, contributing to a culturally complex environment. The economic status of this group ranges anywhere from those living in villages to university students to middle- or upper-class professionals. Many of them are culturally Buddhist, but very few of them are actively practicing any kind of religion. The Buddhist values and morals are very present in this area, but none of these morals lead to any kind of true hope. Many are searching for truth and purpose in a world that can offer only temporary relief and satisfaction. Please pray for the salvation of the peoples of Chiang Rai province.
