Peoples of Rhine, Rühr, Main River Areas, Germany

(RYN, RUE-er) – Winter in Germany is mostly dark and rainy. Christmas markets and the lights bring cheer in December. The predominantly Catholic areas host four days of parades in February for “Karnaval.” Some of the parades are kid-friendly, but most are not. After all the parties and barhopping is over, winter depression often sets in. Pray that Germans will realize the temporary excitement of the next party isn’t fulfilling. Ask for opportunities to open so that local Christians and IMB team members can connect with those who are searching for deeper meaning. Pray that more Germans will realize Jesus is the one who fully heals and brings lasting joy and real, abundant life. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10 ESV).
