Peoples of the Konkan Coast, India

(KAHN-kin) – The Kharvi are an engaged, yet unreached, people group in western India. There are approximately 36,000 Kharvi who live across two states, speak a variety of languages, and worship many different gods. Because this group is somewhat diverse in all these things, they need multiple strategies to become fully engaged in evangelism and church planting. Traditionally, this group of people were salt farmers and made silver jewelry. Pray that believers will be “salt and light” and willing to cross state lines and cultural lines to engage the Kharvi people. Pray that Christ will become more “precious than silver” to the precious Kharvi people group!
