Originally from China, the Giay have migrated to Vietnam and Laos. A population of around 8,300 Giay live in northernmost Laos. Since the 1950s linguists have created a written form of their language, but no Bible materials have been published. The Giay are a very traditional people, with traditional housing, music forms, and spirit worship. Some families still practice totem worship, following worship rituals towards different animals. Pray for the eyes of the Giay to be opened to the emptiness of their traditional worship. Pray for them to encounter the true God who created all things and all people. May the Giay meet the One who desires a relationship with His people, and surrender their lives to Jesus Christ.
