(chee-ang MY) – Aspen grew up in the church but rebelled as a teenager. After her parents divorced and both remarried, she felt abandoned and so she abandoned the life she was raised in, including the church. Fast forward 10 years, and Aspen is now pregnant with no female figure in her life to help her figure out how to care for a baby. A friend introduced her to the pregnancy center where a Care Team came along side Aspen. During the first meeting, they were unsure how she would respond to the fact that they were Christians because she has been so hostile to Christianity for many years. But God softened her heart and brought the right Care Team women to share words of encouragement, instruction, and hope to her as they talked about what she could expect in her last few weeks of pregnancy, shared the gospel with her, and prayed with her. Aspen is looking forward to their next visit when they will start talking about how to take care of the baby after birth. The Care Team is praying Aspen’s boyfriend, Allen, will join next time so he too can hear about caring for his baby as the father and about the Heavenly Father who desires to care for all of us.
