(pri-TOR-ee-uh) – As he walked off the measurements on his roof, missionary Daniel Scott wasn’t thinking about ministry; he was thinking about where to put solar panels. But then he heard a voice from the neighbor’s garden below. His perch on the roof gave him a perfect view into that yard. The new neighbor said hello and began sharing all that was going on in her life. (The neighbors had recently moved in, so the relationship was new.) Just a few weeks earlier, the neighbor, Charmaine, had discovered that she had four cancerous brain tumors. It had taken three surgeries to remove the tumors. Only two weeks after she returned home from the hospital, another scan revealed five new tumors, and the doctor gave her two months to live. Since learning of their neighbors’ intense situation, the Scotts have reached out numerous times. Charmaine, her husband, and their 15-year-old son don’t have a saving relationship with Jesus. But they all need one — now, more than ever. “Lord Jesus, please open Charmaine’s heart to receive You as her Lord and Savior while she still can. Have mercy on her husband and son so that they, too, may know Your saving peace. Have mercy on this family Lord.”
