(pri-TOR-ee-uh) – “The sun shines brightly this Sunday morning. Throughout the morning, believers quietly move their camp chairs to keep in the shade. We are gathered for church in our backyard,” write missionaries Daniel and Sky Scott. “The atmosphere on the outside appears relaxed, but inside, these hearts are anything but. They are hungry and thirsty for righteousness. They begin by asking each other, ‘How are you following Jesus?’ and then, ‘How are you fishing for Jesus?’ The lesson on Matthew 13 stretches to almost two hours as more and more truths are revealed — not by a preacher, but by the Holy Spirit. This is just one such scene as six different house churches meet across the city of Pretoria. ‘Junctions’ is the name of this community of house churches. On the first and third Sundays of the month, the house churches meet in homes. On the second and fourth Sundays, the believers from all the house churches meet together for corporate worship at a green space just outside the city. Please pray for the believers who meet together in these house churches. ‘If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit’ (Galatians 5:25 ESV).”
