Abdullah came to the “Big City” seeking refuge from the devastation of war. In his search for safety and stability, he not only found work, but also discovered new life and purpose through a relationship with Christ. Now, God has placed on his heart the vision to open a community center for other refugees like himself. These men, women, and children have endured unimaginable hardship and loss. At Abdullah’s center, they will find practical help: education for adults and children, nutritious food for their families, and care for new mothers and babies. But most importantly, they will find a place where they can encounter God’s love and the peace that only Christ can give. Please pray that the Lord will provide Abdullah with every resource he needs to continue this ministry. Ask that each person who walks through the doors of this center will experience the healing presence of Jesus, freedom from past trauma, and renewed hope for the future. Pray that every fatherless child, widow, and refugee will encounter the Lord who is “near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18 ESV).
