(ru-ME-lee-an) – What is there to aim for? In a society without much possibility of improving one’s lot in life, Rumelian Turkish young men walk down the street, aimlessly smoking. They are limited in the types of jobs they can get, as all too often, favored family members and friends of the majority culture are given the employment positions involving higher pay. Pray that young Rumelian Turks of the Balkans will find the all-satisfying joy of following Jesus and be able to echo the words of Peter in John 6:68 (ESV): “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”
