Sapporo, Japan

(suh-POHR-oh) – As the snow begins to fall more steadily in Sapporo, Japan, and people settle into calmer rhythms for the next few months, please be praying for the believers on the Island of Hokkaido. Ask that this winter season will be a reminder for them of Christ’s love and forgiveness for their sins. Ask that they will be freshly filled with a new understanding of how they are covered by Christ, and that their walks with Him will become more rich and meaningful. Pray that each morning they will be filled with a deep desire to study the Word and grow closer to the Lord. Most likely the majority of their family and friends are nonbelievers, so pray for a renewed boldness for them to live out their faith and share the gospel with people in their life. Ask that unbelievers will be convicted of their sin and recognize that Christ can wash them white as snow. “Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.” (Isaiah 1:18 ESV).
