(suh-POHR-oh) – Missionaries write: “Student volunteers are coming to Sapporo this month. They are looking forward to helping open doors for one church, and maybe more, with outreach events like an English cafe or games in the park. Team leaders met the leader of these students at a Baptist gathering one year ago in the United States, and God has kept Sapporo on their hearts since then. At least one person on the team has already spent time in Japan helping a church on the main island of Honshu and speaks Japanese. Pray with us for the many touches these students will have during their summer break. Pray that doors will be opened for the gospel. Pray that Japanese students will have open eyes and minds to the gospel as our team follows up with them after the volunteers go home. Pray for gospel seeds to be sown so that more people will be interested in visiting a church. Pray that many will be curious about why students would give up their free time to come to Sapporo like these are doing. Pray for pastors and church members to see new ways to welcome new faces into their communities through these encounters.”
