(suh-POHR-oh) – “For many Japanese, Easter is just a word used in Christian churches but has no real meaning for them. Christmas has become a celebration for the Japanese, but Easter is still not clearly understood. As many churches in Sapporo will be having special outreach events around Easter, join us in praying for these opportunities for believers to invite friends and family to church. Pray that many will be curious about what this celebration is about and join with others to hear the good news of Jesus’ resurrection. Pray for pastors to share a clear message of what Easter is and offer an invitation for seekers to come learn more. Pray for those who might be baptized on this Sunday as a testimony of their faith in Jesus Christ. Ask the Lord to help Christians in Japan to have the words to share why this Resurrection Day celebration is so pivotal in their faith in Jesus so that others will desire the eternal life that is promised by the Risen Lord!
