Sereer of Senegal and The Gambia

(suh-RARE) – The rains begin to fall in Senegal in the month of July. Most of the Sereer are subsistence farmers. They depend on the rains to grow millet, peanuts, black-eyed peas, and corn. They do not have the ability to irrigate their fields. Too much or too little rain is a catastrophe. During the rainy season, ministry slows, as both men and women work in the fields. Some villages become difficult to reach when the roads become muddy and impassible. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will work in the hearts of believers and unbelievers, drawing them to the Lord of the harvest.
