(suh-RARE) – “In West Africa, we have a short season of rain,” workers write. “The rains typically begin in July and continue through September. In recent years, the rains have been unpredictable. If often rains too little or too much, destroying the crops that most people here depend on for feeding their families for the rest of the year. During the rainy season, travel can become difficult. It can become impossible to access most villages, and even the roads in the cities can become flooded and destroyed by the water. Ministry opportunities can slow down during this period, as access to people is difficult. Villagers spend most of the rainy season in the fields growing millet, peanuts, corn, and black-eyed peas, so their time is very full. This month, please pray for the rains to be adequate. Intercede for opportunities to continue ministry in villages despite the road conditions. Pray for the people to see the Lord as the Giver of rain, crops, and life. Pray for hearts that are open to the gospel and for opportunities to continue to share the love of Christ with them.”
