A couple of months ago, the Lord brought a family to faith and a church was started in one South Asian city! Since then, the new believing family was being faithful to share their story and the gospel. Some in their community were not happy that they had decided to follow Jesus, and one night at a Bible study meeting, a radical religious group broke in. They demanded that the believers who had led the family to faith be handed over so they could beat them up. The new family was scared, but they stood firm in their faith, and eventually the radicals left. After that, the newly believing husband said, “I don’t think it was until that moment [faced with opposition] that I truly believed.” Praise God for how He is working these trials for the strengthening of His Church! Please pray that this family will not respond in fear and shrink back, but will be emboldened all the more to proclaim the gospel. Pray for continued wisdom as other believers help the local leaders shepherd this new gathering so that these persecutors of the church will become faithful followers!
