Richard and Connie have lived in Istanbul for over 10 years. Connie became a believer while in Russia, and Richard became a believer after living in Istanbul for a few years. Like many others, Richard and Connie have chosen to reside illegally in Turkey in order to make money to send to their families in Turkmenistan. Now, they have decided to return to Turkmenistan to live with Richard’s parents. A common Central Asian custom is for the youngest son to live with his parents once he is grown. He and his wife care for his parents as they age. Sadly, oftentimes the Central Asian mother-in-law relates severely with her son’s wife. Since Connie and Richard married in Istanbul, Connie has never seen Richard’s home, and Richard has never lived with his parents and his wife under the same roof. Connie worries about their marriage. Richard wonders, “Should I listen to my mother and do like she says, or should I choose to honor my wife?” Pray for Richard and Connie’s marriage not to crumble.
