Just before 8:00 am Tuesday morning Taiwan was rocked by a 7.2 earthquake which struck off the eastern coast. The earthquake was felt throughout the island nation, but most of the damage occurred near Hualien. Please be in prayer for ongoing rescue efforts, the injured, those who have lost loved ones, and those dealing with the trauma of the event. Aftershocks continue, which add to the fear and unease of those living there. We are grateful for churches in the area that immediately responded, and we pray for wisdom and safety as they minister to the needs of those around them. This is a time of heightened spiritual focus for the Taiwanese as they celebrate the Ching Ming Festival, also called “Tomb-Sweeping Day.” On April 5-6, families will clean or sweep the family gravesites and engage in ancestor worship. Pray that the lost and hurting in Taiwan will hear the gospel and choose to worship Christ alone. Thank you for praying with us for the people of Taiwan.
