Tajiks of Tajikistan

(TAH-jeeks) – Marriage in Tajikistan is almost always arranged, and it’s often against the wishes of the bride, if not also the groom. Valentine’s Day is a time when those in the West celebrate “love.” Please be praying for the marriages of Tajikistan. Ask God to save husbands and wives, and pray that they will grow in their love for Him even as they grow in their love for one another. For those who are already believers, please pray for their marriages to be Christ centered and strengthened. If a Tajik woman or man is “older” (even in their mid-20s) and unmarried, they are looked upon with pity as well as shame. This Valentine’s Day, pray for opportunities to share with unmarried men and women about the love and home that can be found in Christ and in the family of God.
