“Most Malawians are subsistence farmers and rely heavily on the crops they produce each year, living on about $1 per day. According to Operation World’s website, about 76% of the population considers itself to be Christian. However, most people have a misunderstanding about the true gospel. There’s poverty, brokenness, and hardship throughout the country. However, the greatest need in Malawi is the same as that around the world: lostness. There are approximately 2,000 Baptist churches; however, most of those churches have no pastor or are being led by a pastor who has never received any biblical training or education. Our goal is to see healthy Malawian churches making disciples in Malawi and beyond. Leadership development and theological education are crucial to seeing this goal realized. God is at work in Malawi and will cause His mission to succeed so that one day, there will be a multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language standing before His throne (Revelation 7:9). Please join our Malawi Team in praying for church leaders to have greater access to healthy, biblical, and doctrinally sound theological education and leadership development. Please intercede for these men and women whom God has called to serve His church in Malawi.”
