“Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest” (Matthew 9:38 ESV). A few weeks ago, more than 50 East African church leaders came to be trained theologically, intentionally, and lovingly by seminary faculty and staff. The adult students leave their home communities, their families, their churches and their ministries once per quarter to be equipped for the glory of God. These pastors, church leaders, men, and women have been called to be workers in the harvest. Their stories are real and poignant, joyful and challenging, faithful amid suffering. Yet, they persevere, they struggle, they wrestle with the task to which that Jesus has assigned them. Pray for the health, safety, perseverance, sound doctrine, energy, love, compassion, and tenacity of all East African theological students who are making East African churches biblically healthy.
