(WEE-ghurs) –
It’s been three years since Let’s Talk opened in a Uighur neighborhood. Unfortunately, this education center, which was started by believing non-Uighur Central Asian families, has not been as successful as was hoped. Give thanks to God for the lives that have been touched in small ways through the center and through the classes taught in a nearby Uighur school, but pray for more to be done. The center has yet to have the amount of students needed to financially support the families of the Central Asians who have come to run it. Students come for a semester and then drop out. That’s very discouraging! Not all hope is lost, however. Pray that the Lord will bring students, specifically Uighur students, since they are a minority people group and can be hard to find. Ask that there will be no fear toward the non-Uighur teachers and their possible “intent.” Pray that all involved will also be introduced to family members of students — mothers, fathers, grandparents, etc. — so that the gospel can go forth.
