Upper Pahari Peoples of Northern India

(pah-HAHR-ee) – The Dokhpa, who number around 2,300, is a people group located in the Ladakh region of India. They are primarily Tibetan Buddhist, and currently, there are no believers or churches among this people group. Continued access to the Dokhpa is difficult, as Ladakh is not easily accessible from the outside for at least six months out of the year. Please be in prayer that the Dokhpa and the surrounding Ladakhi peoples will have a chance to hear and respond to the good news, and ask that believing Ladakhis living there year around will engage this people group. Pray that many Dokhpa will come to know the one true God!
