Genet is ethnically the same as the majority of people in Urban Rose, but she grew up in another country. Because of war, she and her daughter had to flee their homeland and ended up moving to Urban Rose. In that city, believers lead a weekly girls’ group for older girls. Girls from a poorer community in the city come to a place where they can play games safely, do crafts, and spend time with other girls their age. Most importantly, each week, the girls are learning stories from the Bible. In recent months, Genet and her daughter have started coming to the girls’ group. Genet is Orthodox, and she reads the Bible in her heart language and is very engaged with what is being taught in the group. Currently, the group is studying the Gospel of Mark. Pray for Genet and her daughter and the other girls who attend the group. Ask that they will be open to the gospel and respond to Christ in faith. Pray that like Genet, other families will encounter the gospel because of their daughters’ involvement in girls’ group.
