Yangon, Myanmar

(yan-GONG) – Thingyan, or Water Festival, is a weeklong Buddhist festival in which people throw water to welcome the new year. Some throw water to have fun while others do it to cleanse themselves from bad things. Many churches will hold training sessions for believers during this time. Others will reach out to their communities with the good news. Pray for outreach events that will happen during Water Festival. Intercede for churches that will hold training and outreach events as well as for individuals who will be sharing one-on-one during this time. Pray for Burmese believers, asking that they will be burdened to share with their friends and neighbors during the holiday. Pray for the Buddhist people, asking that they will realize that there is only one God who can provide true cleansing from sin.
