Mosque in Maluwe

Women carry yams to market in front of the historic mud mosque in Banda Nkwanta, Ghana. The structure was built in the ancient Sudano-Sahelian architectural style by a Muslim missionary from Mali in the mid-20th century. Among all of Ghana’s historic mosques in this style, it has the highest towers and is easily seen from the busy Techiman-Wa highway.
