Amitabha

Pictured here in Singapore’s Buddha Tooth Relic temple, Amitabha (meaning infinite light) is worshipped as the principle Buddha in the Pure Land sect of Mahayana Buddhism. According to this sect anyone who sincerely calls on Amitabha’s name will, upon his or her death, be guaranteed rebirth into a paradise, called the Pure Land.
