Carpet Museum

A detail of a Persian carpet in the Carpet Museum of Iran in Tehran, Iran, showing a paisley design, which a guide said was a “cypress tree blowing in the wind.” In Persian culture a cypress tree is a symbol of long life, since the trees are said to be able to live 600 to 700 years.
