While selling her garlic, peppers, and vegetables in the Maumere street market, a Sikka woman interacts with her daughter. The Sikka people live on Flores, an island in eastern Indonesia with a Roman Catholic and Spanish colonial history.

The Sikka people number over 180,000; most are Roman Catholic.
