Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat in Cambodia is undoubtedly the most famous of all the temples in ancient Angkor. It is believed to have been built as a funerary temple for King Suryavarman II, who reigned in AD 1112-1152 , and honors the Hindu god Vishnu. Surrounded by a large moat that is 1.5 kilometers by 1.3 kilometers, it towers some 55 meters high.
