(van-COO-ver) – In Metro Vancouver, churches of an Asian ethnic group are thriving. They continue to share the gospel, make disciples, and multiply. However, they often are limited by language and only reach out to their own people. In the midst of this, there are some church plants that are making efforts to cross language and cultural barriers. These small plants are reaching out to local Canadians, First Nations (indigenous peoples), immigrants, and refugees from places like Africa, the Middle East, and other parts of Asia. They regularly visit homeless shelters where many refugees are staying, providing meals and help where they are able. Many in these churches have heard the gospel and experienced Jesus’ love for the first time through the hands and feet of these faithful sisters and brothers. As these churches prepare for Christmas outreaches, please pray that they will continue to have fruitful ministry. Pray that Jesus’ name will be lifted up, that the gospel will be proclaimed, and that these small churches will have a huge impact through their care and witness.
