Afar Media Outreach Project
Project Overview
Reaching non-literate peoples with the gospel is difficult. Oral media, particularly radio, can have a significant impact on such peoples. The Afar people heard the gospel for eight years through a Muslim-sensitive radio program that shared the gospel through Chronological Bible Storying. Some Afar put their faith in Christ and need discipling. Your gift will create programs that help these new believers grow in faith and join with others in worship and disciple-making.
Since the previous radio program ended, Afar believers continue to need sound, focused Bible teaching through oral media as they figure out how to live the life of faith together. The Afar Media Outreach project will meet specific needs to facilitate a church planting movement.
This radio ministry is an integral part of an overarching church planting strategy among the Afar and a great example of shared ministry between local believers and the western church which provides funding and technical expertise.
