Rangpur City and Rangpur Division (similar to a state) are in the northwestern part of Bangladesh. The word “Rangpur” means City of Color, referring to indigo cultivation and the deep blue dye produced from indigo plants. Although the Christian population is very small (less than 0.1% of the total population), give thanks to God for the 50,000-plus believers who make their homes there! Ask the Lord to raise up a champion for Rangpur who will seek to expand the kingdom of God strategically throughout Rangpur. Pray that the Lord will cause many to repent of their sins and be washed in the blood of Jesus (1 John 1:9), becoming clothed in garments of salvation (Isaiah 61:10). “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool” (Isaiah 1:18 ESV).
