(BAH-soo-too) – As fuel prices are increasing around the world, the Basotho of Lesotho, like all people, are experiencing a decrease in resources. The Southern Hemisphere is entering winter. Many Basotho use paraffin (kerosene) for cooking and heating their homes. Some of the women use paraffin to bake bread to sell at the market. Prices will increase on most supplies due to an increased delivery cost. The price increase of fuel will also create a rise in the price of taxi fares. Many Basotho rely on taxis to conduct business affairs and to take them to their jobs or to clinics. Because of job scarcity, this additional expense will be a heavy burden for the Basotho. Please join with the Basotho Team in praying for this price hike to be short-lived, for the Basotho to look to Christ for their provisions, and to feel the warmth of Christ’s love as they look to Him. Pray for the Basotho Team to take advantage of every opportunity to share the hope that is found only through Christ during this challenging time. “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19 ESV).
