Basotho of Lesotho and South Africa

(BAH-soo-too) – “Sadly, in Lesotho, the breakdown of families is a common occurrence,” writes the Basotho Team. “Parents often leave the country in search of jobs. Many never return home. Many of the adults leaving their children behind experienced this in their own childhood. Trauma often begets more trauma, which is one example of ways in which the evil one is seeking to tear families apart. Please join a Great Commission Christian (GCC) partnering couple in asking God to intervene in the lives of these parents. Through the gospel, chains of generational sin and trauma can be healed. New beginnings can occur through Jesus. Pray that these partnering missionaries, as well as pastors, care center workers, volunteers, and children attending the care centers, will boldly and compassionately share the hope they have with hurting people, remembering that someone once shared that hope with them. Pray for a new generation of fathers and mothers to grow up and stay to love and raise their children with the hope they have in Christ. ‘God settles the solitary in a home; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious dwell in a parched land’ (Psalm 68:6 ESV).”
