Cape Town, South Africa

(KAYP town) – “The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth” (Psalm 145:18 ESV). Thank you for praying for missionaries in Cape Town, South Africa. Though salvation has come to Cape Town, darkness still has a foothold in a city of many faiths. In a part of the city where gangs are rife and other faith systems surround the residents, Karen sent a text message to missionary Gail Davis, saying that she was thinking of killing herself. Immediately, God’s words came to mind, and Gail began reminding Karen of the truths of God. She prayed with Karen. They remembered Elijah being depressed and resting under a broom tree. Elijah told God, “It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life” (1 Kings 19:4 ESV). After God allowed him to rest, Elijah awoke refreshed and mentally fortified. Just like Elijah, Karen rested. Give thanks to God that when she awoke and read a prayer that Gail had sent, she wanted to live and praised God for answering her cry. Thank you for being part of this mission. Without your constant prayers, another outcome could have occurred. Thank you for praying for people like Karen.
