(CHE-chen) – “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28 ESV). January 7 is the day that Eastern Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas. Pray that this Christmas, Chechens will be curious to know the reason for the season. In the ninth-13th centuries, there were Christian Chechens due to the work of Georgian missionaries. Pray for Chechens today to be reminded that being Chechen does not have to equal being Muslim. Ask for them to seek out the meaning of the birth of the Son of Man and Son of God, and pray that they will not be offended by His humility, but instead feel deeply loved.
