The Masowe sect are one of the African-initiated syncretistic churches in Zimbabwe. Pastor Shoko says that it’s heartbreaking when those who come to his church and claim to be believers revert to these “churches” that incorporate traditional occult practices and charms, hoping to get a desired result. Pray that believers will “seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness” (Matthew 6:33 ESV) and trust in Him alone to provide for their needs. Pray that they will learn to be content with what God provides for them. “But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content” (1 Timothy 6:8 ESV).
