Flying over Zimbabwe, one is reminded how hard hit the country is after two years of drought. The rural population, especially, continues to suffer under the harsh conditions. Cattle are money to the rural people, but many cows are dying. Some people are selling their cattle, knowing that they will die without grain and water. Pray for the desperate people who live in this “dry and weary land where there is no water” (Psalm 63:1 ESV). Pray for the churches that are doing what they can to meet the needs of the people in their communities; may God multiply their meager supplies. Pray, also, that the early rains will come in October to help get the crops growing and that the latter rains will come at the right time and in just the right quantity to complete the growing season and fill the dams with water.
