Kareem studied at a university that produces leaders of mosques. He did everything that his faith demanded: pray, fast, keep vigil, perform rituals, and go on pilgrimage. People would say, “May God accept it.” He often thought, “But what if He doesn’t?” As Kareem delved into the teachings of Islam, he started questioning everything. He asked scholars and leaders about his questions but didn’t find satisfactory answers. He began exploring the teachings of other religions. He prayed that God would show him the correct path. One time, he visited a church and heard the story of Peter denying the Messiah three times. In Muslim teachings, mercy was conditional and people shouldn’t feel safe from God’s punishment. Kareem listened in amazement to Peter’s story. The Messiah didn’t punish him or abandon him. Instead, the Messiah prepared a breakfast, invited Peter to eat, and then restored him. Kareem understood that this was mercy, forgiveness, and love. He came to believe that the gospel was the right path. He now shares his faith with others. Praise God for saving Kareem! Pray that many others in the City of Sand will believe and accept the gospel like Kareem did.
