Buddy and Ellie started a church in their home three years ago and have noticed some interesting sounds outside over the years. When the group met to worship on Tuesday afternoons, a motorcycle would give a non-muffled rev up. Another neighbor might make some noise. Distractions occurred, but the church continued to grow. Church members shared Jesus with their neighbors, and more people attended every week. Now, over 20 people attend, and many more want to come. This caught the attention of the neighbors, and they seem to have taken another step of indirect persecution. “The house owner called the other day and said we will not be able to extend our lease. We think she might have been intimidated or threatened by the neighbors because we can’t get a clear answer about why we cannot extend,” Buddy explained. “The only explanation offered is renovations. Yet the roof is fine, other parts of the house are fine, and if any minor repairs are needed, we are the ones to fix them.” Pray for Buddy and Ellie to find a new place to live and a solution for the weekly meetings.
