(dah-KAR) – “The Baptist Center in Dakar recently required major repairs. Walls were cracked and sagging. The roof had to be removed and rebuilt. Once removed, one could see how the center had been built — sort of a patchwork quilt with an original structure and then subsequent expansions. The building underwent ‘surgery’ to the bones and was in the process of being rebuilt the entire summer. The current rainy season has slowed the work. Schedules here are elusive. The slow pace is impacting the work. Classes, as well as the conversation club in which students have a chance to discuss lessons and life, are normally held in the places that are yet under construction. Thank the Lord for the ongoing English classes that are being taught in the limited useable space! These classes create an open door to include Bible storying as the students learn English. The gospel is being shared as opportunities arise. Please pray for the repairs to be completed very soon, and ask that all the work will be done with quality materials and expertise. Pray that the center will soon be humming and buzzing with programs to advance the gospel and help the surrounding community.”
